    What instruments do you guys play, if any? And what is your favorite genre of music?

    I'm a viola player who is looking into Guitar, piano, etc.

    My favorite genres are Alt. rock, and classic rock. But I'll listen to some other things too.

    Hmmm...

    ...I've been wanting to learn how to play bass guitar.

    As for my favorite kinds of music...Hmm, let us see here...

    Classic Rock
    Progressive Rock
    J-Rock
    New Wave*
    Progressive
    Bebop Jazz
    Classic Funk/Disco
    Reggae

    And whatever genres music like Dragonstea Din Tea and Caramelldansen Speedycakes Remix fall under.

    I also like Tom Jones, Barry White, etc., and a few pop songs from the '80s.

    What do you guys think?

    EDIT, *Note: To correct myself somewhat:

    I'm not exactly sure if the new music I've started listening to is New Wave; please, help me out.

    I've started listening to music with a lot of acoustic guitars, synthesizers, flutes, etc., etc. The Music Choice channels call it "Soundscapes".

    Very soothing, it is. Does it sound like New Wave, or Progressive, or...?

    I can play clarinet and Piano at a reasonable standard.

    I don't exactly have a favourite genre:
    I would never sit down to listen to some Mozart but some classical is good. Especially game-track classical (Good for when you're doing something else.)
    I like some rock, Jazz and all the rest. (But not rap, Daniel H put me off. You know what I mean Shroom.)

    Classical is awesome (Especially game tracks), and jazz is pretty good. As for New Wave, I don't really think I've listened to much....

    And I love the '80s.

    Or maybe some Gnarls barkley, or some Akeboshi, or some Tomahawk.

    I like every genre apart from rap. Daniel H just makes it worse. (You know what I mean, Adrastos.)

    No, seriously, look up the Japanese version of Sanctuary (Sometimes called Passion) by Utada Hikaru. It is amazing.

    Another song that I have linked to over a million times on this forum is Crow dance by Tomahawk.

    Jokes aside, I play viola (the best instrument), piano, and a 5-string electric violin. Which is awesome.


    I love romantic and baroque (not as big a fan of classical), some rock, and anything and everything written by Yoko Shimomura.

    I've been attempting to learn the guitar lately, with fairly good results. I'm really enjoying it.

    Also, my favourite genres are progressive rock/metal, alternative rock, and darkwave/gothic rock.

    Wow, I'm glad that's been going well! I haven't played viola in about 2 years or less, sadly. I might get back into it someday. This summer, I plan on learning guitar and piano.
