I had an idea.

Well, I recently had an idea, and I wanted to get some feedback on it.

How about we start a second RPG, called something like BZPB Classic or whatever. It could have the same central premise as the normal BZPB, but it would effectively be starting with a clean slate. I wonder what we would do differently if given the chance.

Opinions?

Ya could just do a big retconny-reboot after the Uterio arc is over. We keep some of the old storyline, but alter it in a way that anyone can hop in. Vahi Cube type of thing.

People hopping in isn't an issue, as Addy, Ferret and Sarge have demonstrated: because you're not bound to a single set of events here, new players can start their own thing and eventually hop into the main story.

I just wanted a new RPG, like the old one but starting from scratch and involving the newer players. For example, the original RPG would've clearly been very different if, I dunno, Klak had joined in earlier than he did, or if Addy or Ferret had been around during the original BZP days. The point of this is to see how different it would be.

I don't want a reboot of the original RPG, because it's gone too far for that to happen. I just want a new RPG, running parallel to the old one and keeping some of the old lore but going in a slightly different direction, as you may expect.

It could work, but if you made it too similar to the main RPG it would distract attention from it. They need to be noticeably different really.

No it doesn't, you can just use Makuta Ynot again.

It'd still be BZPB, just slightly different as you may expect.

By "different" do you mean that we can mention the death of one of our main characters, just because the situation was different that time?

Probably. It's an alternate-verse, so you can do whatever. The divergence point is the end of the Vrai War.

BTW, Uterio is not part of this verse. I'm still debating whether or not to include Caiaphus in it.

Specifically, the divergence point is that after the Vrai War, Teridax lead a successful revolution and took over the MU. Another big difference is that Teridax was good in this universe.

I think that, in this universe, Kakamu was never swept out to sea in the war as a Matoran, because the war never happened. So he won't be my main character this time... I might come up with someone entirely new to lead my band.

I think I decided to delay it when it became apparent that the forum was too slow to have more than one RPG running at a time.

I was hoping for a repeat of January 2011 for some reason.
