[ With Mamimi & Moss: ]
Mamimi: *Leads Moss around the corner, still holding the plant ryuu-neko*
Plant Ryuu-Neko: *Purrs, nuzzling deeper into her arms*
Spark Ryuu-Neko: *Gives an excited purr, nibbling gently on Moss' chin*
Dark Ryuu-Neko: ... *Huffs, before padding after them* ...
Mamimi: *Leads the group through a door that says 'Game Room'*
[ Game Room: ]
*Possesses a large, rectangular, three-by-five box sunk into the floor with raised walls, and two chairs on either end*
Mamimi: *Sets the plant ryuu-neko down* This is the holographic mini-arena.
Plant Ryuu-Neko: *Pads over to a nearby corner, curling up for a nap*
Dark Ryuu-Neko: *Does the same, quickly falling back to sleep*
Mamimi: ...We just sit in the chairs, and use the interface helmets that drop down to control it.
*Sitting down in the far chair and scooting around to get comfy, she continues*
Mamimi: In the sport of Fallguard, there are two teams of seven, two goals, and four kinds of ball. Every team has a Forward, two Runners, two Strikers, and two Defenders. The Forward has to get the Sparrow Ball into the opposing team's goal. The Runners gather balls and get them to their teammates. The Strikers use either a Falcon Ball, Raven Ball, or Owl Ball to take out the other team's Forward; the Falcon Ball is quickest, the Raven Ball is totally silent, and the Owl Ball has the most mass. Defenders protect the Forward from getting out. Finally, there are three ravines across the field - One seven-foot-wide ravine in the center, two four-feet-wide ravines on either side. If any players fall in, they're out of the game; and if the Forward falls in, the team loses.
*She gives a challenging sort of smile to Moss, winking uncharacteristically*
Mamimi: Ready to get your butt kicked?
...
[ With Dorothy & Yuuka: ]
Dorothy: ... *Inaudibly whispers something* ...
*When she realizes that Yuuka can't hear her, she speaks up just loud enough to be heard*
Dorothy: ...I would rather not read this to you...I enjoy reading it, yet...
*She pauses, staring down at the plain red dustcoat, before continuing*
Dorothy: ...Something about this book...Gives me a bad feeling.
*Falling silent for a few moments more, she turns to Yuuka*
Dorothy: ...Do you get such a feeling from it?
...
[ Meanwhile, On Some Kind Of Giant Ship: ]
*Floating through space is a vast, domed ship, containing a miniature world*
*Past giant, stony walls, inside a dark and gnarled forest on an unknown planet, several beings move about*
*They are countless Dark Gnomes, going about their business; seemingly comfortable in the shade*
*Watching over them is a familiar plant-girl...*
Cassie: ... *Scans eyes over them from a miniature fortress* ...Any news, Dantrice?
Dantrice: *Is a female Dark Gnome* Sorry. Nothing on Keruvim.
Cassie: ... *Sighs* ...You can take a break soon.
Dantrice: *Already out the front door*
Cassie: *Huffs angrily*
